the silence is deafening

Just an update on the situation with Coca Cola in India - after receiving a form letter response to my letter to them, I wrote back, as I didn't find their answers satisfactorily addressed my concerns.

It's been almost two weeks now, and they haven't responded. Either a real person is taking the time to write an actual well thought out response and actually address the issue, or they're ignoring me.

I have a guess which it is, but I certainly will be sure to post about it if I do receive a response.

The good news is, I think I'm over my love affair with Diet Coke once and for all as a result of this!

Good for you - not only for giving up the DC but for staying after the company to give you answers. What's always bothered me about products like that is the addiction factor. That feeling that you just have to have something. I've seen my hubby go through withdrawal headaches so I just don't bother ever drinking the stuff. I have other addictions to deal with without adding a new one :) Like exercise.

I am happy to hear that you broke the diet coke habit. I agree with Heather about the addiction factor and have often wondered about that. I am working on being addicted to fruits, veggies and water - not chips and a variety of other junk foods.

For what it is worth, I did send them an email. I have about one Diet Coke per week, so I may as well give it up altogether.

heather, it's amazing, but now that I've been doing it a while, I've actually started periodically thinking that I MISS riding my bike when it's been a few days. amazing! And I'm done missing DC!

debbie, if you tried that nectarine salad I posted the other day, you'd be hooked. it was so good.

anon. - even if they're ignoring us, I think it's worth sending the letters. who knows when it'll hit the breaking point where they decide it's easier to fix the problem than risk the negative pr?

I have a periodic diet coke habit too - love that caffeine - that I'm giving up after reading Theresa's review of the water book at the Bookworm and remembering your letters to coca cola and their disregard for the community in India.

I'm happy to know I'm not the only one giving it up. Thank you and yes, thank you for not giving up too.

Maybe there is a reason for the silence...
